Hiyo Yukino (雪野日陽) is one of the main characters of Ongaku Shoujo. She is a member of the idol unit of the same name.
Character Description[]
Biography[]
An absolute genius with an IQ of over 200. This unfortunately resulted in school being extremely boring for her, so she started to skip, and now she goes to a school dedicated for gifted students. She understands everything immediately so she has no experience or interest in memorizing everything.
Despite seeing mostly everything as dull, there was one exception for her: music. This led her parents to actually push her to pursue music.
Personality[]
A quiet and intelligent girl that likes what she calls perfect music, and claims that nothing else interests her besides music. Aside from being around Shupe, Hiyo's pretty aloof and rarely speaks much.
Hiyo always has her headphones on listening to music. Everyone in Ongaku Shoujo is curious to what she's listening to.
Relationships[]
Shupe Gushiken — Shupe is seen to be brushing Hiyo's hair in a few episodes. Shupe hugged Hiyo in Episode 12 and complimented how smart Hiyo is. Hiyo blushed at the compliment.
Etymology[]
The name Hiyo means "sun, day" (日) (hi) and "light, sun, male" (陽) (yo). Her surname Yukino means "snow" (雪) (yuki) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no). Part of the name Yuki can also mean "reason, cause" (由) (yu) and "valuable" (貴) or "chronicle" (紀) (ki).
